Bold lines and natural hues dominate Jones Lang LaSalle’s new light and breezy office in Christchurch. The office occupies the whole first floor of the newly constructed Carlton Hotel. There is also an adjoining balcony area. Studio Design + Architecture’s team provided interior design services incorporating JLL’s branding colours of black, red and white. A spacious and functional floor plan, and ceiling-to-floor windows provided the design team with a number of angles in which natural light could penetrate the space. This was used to advantage by adding glass walls so that light could flow into private rooms. Overall the atmosphere is clean and fresh and has the flexibility for an expanding workforce.

Clean, fresh and flexible

Studio Design + Architecture’s team also worked closely with the branding agency as the scope of work also included the building signage and concept. Worksettings were designed for desk sharing and ‘drop in’ locations were provided to cater for expansion and frequent visits from the wider company team. Natural cedar was used to break up the wall spaces and add warmth to the striking palette.
