New Zealand Trade & Enterprise - Sao Paulo

Working with architects in other countries to complete NZ government projects can be challenging due to language barriers, cultural differences and code compliance rules.

On this project for NZ Trade and Enterprise in Brazil, a series of multi-functional spaces were used to provide a flexible working environment with multiple work settings. Herman Millar chairs were used with locally supplied workstations and furniture. As this is also a NZ consulate there was strict security protocol observed with the design and during construction. The secure environment had to be designed with access to bathrooms within the tenancy. A muted subtle palette was used in contrast to the hectic city outside, regenerated timber boards were used to soften the space and NZ-supplied products and materials were used where possible.

NZTE staff are highly mobile and travel to different offices so touch down points were needed. A break-out function space with operable walls for flexibility was designed which can be reconfigured in a number of ways. Throughout the fit-out we applied NZTE design standards and NZinc branding and a virtual receptionist was included as part of the reception.
