Triumph Capital
Triumph Capital’s workplace fitout involved converting an ex nightclub tenancy from a double volume/mezzanine to two separate single-storey tenancies.
The void was filled by way of a rib raft concrete slab floor connected to the existing floor plate, utilizing prior un-leasable space. The project required building consent lodgement and associated engineering consultant co-ordination – all of which was managed by Studio Design + Architecture’s team as base build component.
The ground floor tenancy was designed to suit a hospitality tenant with level one being a workplace tenancy. Studio Design + Architecture designed and managed the level one tenancy fitout as well, catering for three companies sharing amenities. The client brief specified a sophisticated fitout which would have a longevity of approximately 15 years, as their prior fitout utilized quality materials and lasted around the same time.
All design elements incorporate correctly-analysed acoustic and lighting levels for optimum employee performance
Individual offices were requested by the client as directors work for themselves within a shared environment with associated support, storage and utility areas. Offices with glazed side panels were planned around the curved façade allowing as much natural light as possible to permeate the remaining office area.
A shared café area was planned for socializing and impromptu meetings. All design elements incorporate correctly-analysed acoustic and lighting levels for optimum employee performance. Shared meeting rooms have custom-designed tables and mid-century design classic chairs all enhanced by the client’s artwork. A design driver around the concept was the clients request to utilize the USM Haller Modular furniture system. The character and ethos of the USM system are: Design, Flexibility, Quality and Durability – similar to the client brief.
The combination of collectable furniture pieces with raw concrete floors and exposed concrete ceilings resulted in a refined, urbane, industrial style. Exposed ceilings with visible ducting and suspended light fixtures were used to accentuate the increased ceiling height and work with the design direction. The material palette comprised of intentionally pared-back materials: Natural sealed concrete, glass, and white painted walls and joinery. Consistent timber veneer has been used in the reception, boardroom and workplace cafe with walnut custom hardware. Acoustic panels blend in with the painted concrete ceilings. The base finishes provided a backdrop for the furniture and art collection.
